ALGIERS, April 21 (Xinhua) -- The Algerian government has started implementing the political reforms announced last Friday by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the Interior Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
The Interior Ministry said in the statement that Minister Daho Ould Kablia has decided to set up working groups to implement the guidelines mentioned in the Head of State April 15 speech.
These working groups will be installed in the ministry headquarters to ensure consultation with political parties, civil society representatives, experts and elected officials.
"This process will be based on discussions and dialogue, and it will aim at not only reinforcing the political and constitutional process by true reforms, but also will review the way of thinking and working of the public administration and elected institutions, in addition to the reinforcement of the participation of all political, social and economy forces adhered to the building of democracy within the frame of a republic state inspiring its force and legitimacy from the people," the statement said.
President Bouteflika has pledged to set up a true representative and participative democracy to boost the democratic process and the state of law, by amending the constitution and reviewing codes of parties and elections.
