BANGUI,
Central African Republic — Central African President Francois Bozize on
Wednesday sacked his son, who was defence minister, and the army chief, as he
prepared to enter talks with a rebellion that has conquered much of the country
in three weeks.
"Defence
minister Jean-Francis Bozize was dismissed, as was the army chief of staff. The
head of state takes over the (defence) portfolio," a statement issued by
the presidency said.
