The Netherlands is calling on Israel to relax the limits on exports from the Gaza Strip still further. The export of tomatoes, strawberries and carnations from the Palestinian territory was allowed to resume a short time ago. However, in talks which included his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman, Dutch Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal has pushed for more goods to be included on the list.
He also called on Israel to permit building materials to be imported again into Gaza to allow for the construction of houses and other buildings. After his meetings in Jerusalem, Mr Rosenthal said his Israeli partners in the talks appeared to be willing to look seriously at his requests.
